It was a game designed for the switch hardware when it was made, and it was ported over to PC. big numbers, lots of grinding, new mechanics that previous games didn't have.oh, and it was their FIRST FULL 3D VERSION, which while the switch version lacked the power for both graphics and performance, we get here on pc.Ĭ) for talking about FFXIV.you do know FFXI was a hugely popular MMO as well right? which horrify me because if they follow the same pattern as Square Enix it means Disgaea games are just going to likely just become pure auto-battlers with simpler mechanics.Ī) it WAS made for a mobile system, the switch.ī) as a hardcore owner of the titles, owning every copy of every release (and yes I have this on both switch and steam now, including every version of previous titles) this game gave me what I expected from a disgaea game. This game is exactly the same but for NIS, the previous game released was Disgaea RPG for Mobile, a Gacha RPG with Auto-Battle system, clearly this is basically their own attempt at breaching the gap. Its like FFXII, FFXI was the first attempt of Square Enix to venture in the MMORPG industry, when they released FFXII it was clearly inspired on the MMORPG format with their shift toward Action RPG, but it seem they had decided to try to breach the gap so to speak with FFXII, subsequent games have been dipping further in that direction with FFXIII & FFXV and with a second dip in the MMORPG business with FFXIV. Personally I think it was their attempt at making a pseudo-mobile game, they released first on Switch, and the entire set up reminds me of a mobile game with simple mechanics, a focus on growing up your numbers at an insane level, auto-battle.
